Bamboo Removal

The best tactics to remove the toughest invasive species.

Bamboo is one of the toughest invasive species to remove due to its resilience, horizontally traveling rhizomes and difficulty to find locations which can properly accept the material for disposal.

We remove bamboo by cutting and disposing of all above ground growth. Once removed, we grub the rhizomes and root mat and remove from the site for processing. Finish by import clean topsoil, grading, and installing seed and straw to get grass growing and prevent runoff.

We follow University of Maryland Extension’s guidelines for containing and removing Bamboo, available at https://extension.umd.edu/resource/containing-and-removing-bamboo/

Another great resource we recommend is Bamboo Control from Clemson at: https://hgic.clemson.edu/factsheet/bamboo-control/
